GB/T 23315-2026: China's New Hook and Loop Standard Is Published

GB/T 23315-2026, China's national standard for hook and loop fasteners, was published on 2 July 2026. It takes effect on 1 August 2027 and fully replaces the previous edition, GB/T 23315-2009. Dongguan Jiehuan Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. ("Jiehuan") is one of the main drafting organisations of this national standard.

Fourteen organisations took part as main drafting bodies, covering raw materials, weaving, testing and certification, and end applications: Quanzhou Gaojing Textile Co., Ltd.; Jiangxi Nanfang Nylon Fastener Co., Ltd.; Jiangsu Baihong Composite Material Technology Co., Ltd.; CTTC Testing & Certification Co., Ltd.; CTTC (Zhejiang) Testing Co., Ltd.; Jinjiang Desheng Garment Webbing Co., Ltd.; Jinjiang Institute of Quality and Metrology; Dongguan Qianxiang New Material Technology Co., Ltd.; Dongguan Jiehuan Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.; Fujian Putian Yuanhang Apparel Co., Ltd.; Baihe Holdings Co., Ltd.; Hangzhou Xiruisi Technology Co., Ltd.; Hangzhou Ruikun Information Technology Co., Ltd.; and Hangzhou Nanfang Nylon Fastener Co., Ltd.

Seventeen people are listed as main drafters: Zhang Tianxiang, Yan Dajia, Lin Bicheng, Yang Wenshuo, Wang Qi, Lou Xintao, Yang Lixin, He Mengmeng, Zhang Jun, Li Guixiang, Xu Jianwen, Lin Congluo, Lin Congbao, Wang Shenghang, Wang Xiaojie, Wang Kun, and Lou Yehui.

Jiehuan's General Manager, Xu Jianwen, is listed as one of the main drafters.

3. What it means for buyers: three practical notes

1. Put the edition number in the purchase contract. Once the new standard takes effect on 1 August 2027, GB/T 23315-2009 is superseded. Write "in accordance with GB/T 23315-2026" into your contract or technical agreement so there is no ambiguity at acceptance.

2. Align on the acceptance criteria during the transition. There is about a year to go before the new standard applies, and the overlap period is where disputes tend to appear. Before starting a new project, confirm with your supplier which edition and which test methods they are working to.

3. Export orders still need to meet destination-market rules. A GB/T standard is a Chinese national standard. Orders shipped abroad normally also have to satisfy RoHS, REACH, OEKO-TEX and similar requirements in the target market — the two are not interchangeable.

4. How Jiehuan is responding

As a main drafting organisation, Jiehuan is reviewing its production and inspection processes against the new standard. The factory is equipped with an initial tack tester, a constant temperature and humidity tester, a UV aging tester and a colour difference tester, alongside a hot-press laminating machine, a laser cutter and die-cutting machines, covering routine testing from raw material through to finished goods.
